Hive Gatherings: Are spaces where creatives come together to experiment, imagine greater possibilities, try out new ideas, and share experiences.
The idea for Hive Gatherings came out of Makoto Fujimura book, Art and Faith. Fujimura talks about how artists as honey bees. "I think of artists like honey bees. Without honey bees pollinating the culture, the ecosystem of culture will collapse." - Makoto Fujimura As an artist, I know firsthand the work of being a honey bee. It goes beyond pollinating the flowers. It also involves bringing the nectar back to the hive. However, the nectar in its raw form cannot feed the colony. It must go through a transformation to become honey. Do you know how bees make honey? I just learned recently. Bees turn the nectar into honey by drying it out using a warm breeze made with their wings for around 40 days and nights. Why be part of a HIVE gathering? Because collaborating with God to bring "Holy Honey" to feed his people takes time and community.
Each gathering is stand alone.
